Here at Hedgehog Grove we take pride in our herd. We have built our herd carefully in the hopes of providing you with healthy, happy, well adjusted hedgehogs that come from multigenerational lineages.

We register all our hedgehogs and their babies with the IHR (International Hedgehog Registry). This includes all rescues that come to us through the Hedgehog Welfare Society or through personal rescue.

All our hedgehogs live in our home, around our children, other pets and are constantly handled by all family members and friends that visit. They are used to typical family sounds, smells and activities, which we believe gives them the best temperament and ease of handling.

Each and every one of our hedgehogs whether they be rescues or for our breeding program see one of our vets when any concerns arise and they all have a biannual Health and Well-Being checkup.

We only ever use Revolution in treatment of mites if there is ever a need.

Our hedgehog's diet consists of our own Pre-Mix which we researched extensively and consists of 9 high-quality cat kibble (some of which are healthier grain-free foods that are not so high in protein or fat). This mix is what our hedgehog babies are weaned onto as well with the addition of another high-quality kitten kibble with extra fat content.

In addition to the pre-mix kibble they get, our hedgehogs enjoy an array of vegetables/fruits and bugs (mealworms, wax worms, butter worms and crickets) daily.
